Individual Therapy for Adults

Depression & Anxiety

Do you feel unmotivated to do the activities that you typically enjoy?  Do you feel sad or numb often? Have you noticed that you worry about the future more than others? It may feel as though these feelings are coming out of nowhere, which makes it hard to understand. Therapy for depression and anxiety allows us to understand the root of these experiences in order to make meaningful and positive changes in our lives. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) allows us to understand our core beliefs and the impact these beliefs have on our actions, thoughts, and feelings. By integrating CBT frameworks with the systemic factors you experience personally, we can work together to support your ability to manage the following challenges:

  • Major depression
  • Generalized Anxiety
  • Social Anxiety
  • Panic attacks

Self-Esteem & Identity

Self-esteem relates to our feelings towards our worth, confidence, and our beliefs towards our capacity to be the person we want to be and flourish in life. Factors that may impact our self-esteem include negative experiences in childhood, body image concerns, imposter syndrome, and marginalization. In therapy, I will invite you to recognize your self-critic, unlearn negative thought patterns, and foster self-compassion.

The oppressive systems that influence our lives may also impact our sense of self and our identities. By acknowledging the nuances of our intersecting identities through affirming and non-judgmental therapy, my hope is to support you in feeling empowered in who you are.

Life Transitions & Relationships

Life transitions may cause feelings of uncertainty and fear. Some examples may include moving to a new place, starting or completing college, career change, or the start/end of a relationship. There are patterns to how we handle life transitions and we will work together to understand these patterns and how to navigate them successfully for you to feel secure in the choices you make.

Relationships are complex and impact our lives in many ways. Oftentimes, the dynamics in our current relationships are related to our early childhood experiences of relationships and what was modeled to us. In therapy, I can help you gain insight into your relational tendencies and identify ways you would like to engage with others in an effort to have healthy, meaningful, and fulfilling relationships.
